About us and how it all began!
The beginnings of American Marketing began way back in 1983 when
Chris and Steve met each other as seventh graders at Highland Junior High
School. Fast forward 28 years later and we are still best friends and have
shared nearly a lifetime of friendship, both good and bad times, and an
abundance of experiences that have greatly enriched both of our lives!
After spending a good portion of our working lives in various entities, and
frustrated with the things we saw of how "typical" business is run, the origins
of this idea began in early 2004. We saw the insane greed that typical business
allows, and knew we could create a business that is entirely opposite of this.
Seeing the financial needs of non-profits in our area, we began to develop the
idea of creating a business that puts a FOCUS on non-profits instead of as an
afterthought. At the same time, we thought we could help out small businesses as
they compete (and THRIVE!) against larger chain stores. We knew we could create
a business based on the principles of fairness, integrity, and honesty.
It is our sincere desire to create a movement where everyone becomes part of the
"giving" process, both individuals and businesses. We hope that all of us
together focused on simply helping others will make this world a better place.
If we each do our simple part, we know this "idea" can happen!
